Here I am! That's right... it's me, Captain X! I have resurfaced again in a place they called, The City That Never Sleeps". There has been a lot going on since the last "somewhat" report of Captain X and the radio silence was not my idea.
Actually, both my parents have been busy with their own work schedule and well, face it they have their hands full with me. You see, I have been growing like a weed the last several months. I turned 2 years-old a little more than four months ago in January (wait, didn't I promise to show pictures of my Birthday Outing with the cousins?) and since then I've been climbing, running, swinging, skipping, and swimming more...plus, I've been learning to say new words in English and other languages (mommy taught me how to say, "Bonjour", "Oui, Maman!", and "Merci". That's French for, "Hello:, "Yes, Mom", and "Thank You"! It should come in handy with the ladies in the future - when I'm like 30-something years-old!!!). This world is just so much fun~ I've been learning all the alphabets and numbers, colors and shapes, and oh, ya... I've been a little obsessed with a piano since I saw one at my cousin Megan's house. Talk about tickling the keys, I saw one just perfect for my size yesterday at FAO Schwartz and it took my parents a long time to pry my fingers from the keys and my bottom from that perfect-sized little stool!
Speaking of being in FAO Schwartz and The Big Apple - why am I here anyway? Well, Mom and Dad are calling it a working vacation. Mom is working a tradeshow for her business while Dad & I will have lots and lots of fun exploring all the sites of NYC. Just yesterday, I rode the subway for the VERY first time and boy, let me tell you... I sure let all the riders on my car knew just exactly how much I loved it! That's a picture of mommy and me in the subway taken from her camera phone. Don't mind her awful-looking hair, it's been raining and when it rains her hair is one frizzy ball of fuzz!
Then we walked around the streets with my Uncle Tino (he's doing his residency in NYC and we were just glad that he was able to take the day off to spend with us. He's a very busy doctor, you know, and I am quite proud of him!) and I saw parts of Central Park for the VERY FIRST TIME, too! It's been a lot of "first" moments since we landed in NYC. Let's see, there is: 1) my first 6-hour airplane ride (which was at 7am in the morning! See the picture of me holding my Puppy in my stroller? That was taken right when Lolo dropped us off at SFO.), 2) first Korean food experience (what can I say, I like rice...alot, alot), 2) first trip to the East Coast, 3) first time in NYC, 4) first New York tax cab ride (they don't have child carseat laws here in NYC, apparently. That appalled my parents being careful Californians and all), and of course, 5) my first visit to FAO Schwarts! Well, that was just day one-and-half of my NYC visit. There is 6 more days to have fun!
